Sub Meter KU – (.60 M – .90 M Antennas)

These antennas are commonly used to downlink a digital, KU signal for home entertainment, Free To Air (FTA), World TV, Business TV, and Church installations.

The most common type of a sub meter system is a “Direct Broadcast Satellite” (DBS) or “Direct To Home” (DTH) satellite. This refers to the Dish Network or DirecTV systems that are commonly found in houses and apartment complexes.

1.0 M – 1.2 M KU Antennas

These antennas are very similar to the Sub Meter antennas. They are commonly installed at Businesses and Church installations. Due to the larger diameter size they are less susceptible to weather interference. These antennas may also be used for Temporary (AD Hoc) Downlink installations for special events.

1.8 M – 2.4 M KU Antennas

These antennas incorporate the same traits as the smaller antennas. They are commonly installed at Hotels and large office buildings. Due to the larger diameter size they are even less susceptible to weather interference than the smaller antennas. These antennas may also be used for Temporary (AD Hoc) Downlink installations for special events and Uplink Send/Receive antennas.

3.0 M and Larger KU Antennas

These very large antennas incorporate the same traits as the smaller antennas. They are commonly installed at TV stations, radio stations, and Satellite Teleports. They are much less susceptible to weather interference. These dishes are often “Steerable” and can move automatically to locate a specific satellite. These types of systems are commonly referred to as “Fixed Service Satellite” (FSS) antennas.

C-Band Antennas

These antennas use a different wave frequency than traditional KU satellites are using. In order to receive signal these antennas need to be larger. In addition these antennas are performing better in bad weather. These dishes are often “Steerable” and can move automatically to locate a specific satellite.

Digital UHF & VHF

(UHF) Commonly used for AM Radio stations, cell phones, and short range microwave or “Point to Point” communications.

(VHF) Commonly found at local TV channels, FM radio stations, long range data communication, government and military facilities, air traffic control stations, and amateur radios.

VSAT
A Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT), is a two-way satellite system used to transmit data back and forth from one satellite dish to another. These systems are commonly used for sales transactions such as credit card, VOIP, satellite internet, or broadcasting from multiple locations simultaneously. These antennas may also be used for Temporary (AD Hoc) Downlink installations for special events and Uplink Send/Receive antennas.

Mobile Antennas

These antennas can range in a variety of different sizes. What makes them unique is the fact that you press 1 button, and the satellite “Points Itself!” This saves a lot of time and required little set up and configuration. These antennas are used to receive video and data from remote locations. Mobile antennas are commonly installed on News Vans, Oil Rigs, RVs and Trailers, FEMA, Government Response Agencies, and local County and City Emergency Response Teams.
