Service & Maintenance (SaM)
GTMS recommends a Service and Maintenance SaM plan with each Satellite Installation. This can be performed annually, bi-annually, or monthly. Our Certified Technicians will “Re-Align” your antenna to the proper orbital location. The technician will also repair or replace any hardware that may be causing problems.
Even with impeccable service, sporadic problems may “Pop Up” with technology, in both hardware and software. These problems are very hard to prevent. Examples of these problems are; |
Solar Interference
“Sun Fade” is a phenomenon which occurs bi-annually. This is when The Sun is lined up directly behind the satellite in Space. This causes major signal interference and outages. A solar flare could also cause major interference.
“Acts of God” We define “Acts of God’ as major environmental events that cause major damage to the areas that are affected. These “Acts of God’ include; Hurricanes, Tornados, Monsoons, Earthquakes, etc.
Bad Weather – This includes Heavy rainstorms, snow, ice storms, heavy Winds, etc. Basically anything that could move or cover your satellite dish.
Equipment Failure
Everyone has experienced equipment hardware failure at some point. This may include a TV failure, a computer problem, cell phone problems, etc. Satellite hardware is no different. Since we are dealing with electrical parts, there is a chance that they could malfunction or be dead out of the box.
Line of Site
With installing a satellite or other types of terrestrial antenna, line of site is essential. IF the Antenna cannot see the satellite, there is no chance of receiving a signal. Some instances where the line of site may be compromised are; Tree Growth, New Building Construction, Sky Scraper Districts, etc.

GTMS and our technicians are able to assist should any of the above problems occur. In fact if you have any problem with your satellite system we are able to help. Our help desk is highly trained and we try to fix most problems over the phone. If a technician is needed we can dispatch on to your facility ASAP!
Although we cannot prevent many of the above problems, we are able to prepare for them. We have fixed antennas in rainstorms, below freezing temperatures, and in 100+ degree heat. |
